Would you like to try your hand at improvisations Whether or not you have experience or if you want to expand your skills, our workshops will give everyone the opportunity  to “have a go”. Sessions will run every Wednesday night from 16 September through to 18 November. And there will be a chance to participate in a Improvisation Comedy Night at the end! You can attend as many or as few sessions as you would like! Participants must be over 18.

Altered States Art Exhibition, Dulwich Picture Gallery

Join CoolTan Arts, Bob & Roberta Smith to celebrate World Mental Health Day at the ‘Altered States’ Opening on 2nd October 2009 from 6.30pm to 9pm.

The art exhibition includes paintings, drawings and screen prints by artists experiencing mental distress and explores themes relating to changes in the way we feel, see or think.

ARTISTS OPEN THEIR DOORS TO THE PUBLIC 3rd & 4th OCTOBER
On the first weekend of October artists and crafts people across the borough of Lambeth will beopening their studio and work spaces to the public. Doors will be open from 11am to 6pm, 3rd and 4th October, admission free, check web site for dates and times of private views.
So far twenty five venues have signed up to take part, exhibiting over eighty artists and crafts people’s work and more will be signing up over the coming weeks. For an up to date list of participating art spaces please check the online map at www.lambethopen.com

Walk for wellbeing
Rethink and Time to Change run a regular walking for mental wellbeing group in Lambeth on Tuesday afternoons. On Tuesday 6th October between 2.00- 3.30pm they will be leading a Get Moving walk around Brockwell Park. This will be to raise the profile of the group and to recruit new members. The walk will take about an hour and will start and end at the Effra Road Centre.

North Lambeth Expo

Saturday 10 October 2009 - 12.00pm - 4.00pm

The latest chance for residents to find out more about where they live and what’s on offer there is running in Waterloo this month.

The North Lambeth People’s Expo will feature representatives from local organisations and a wide range of services including the Council, NHS and colleges. People will be on hand to answer your questions, receive your feedback and help you to make the most of what’s available.

The theme of the 10 October event will be People and Places. It is a chance for people living in North Lambeth to speak to councillors, have their say about a range of local plans such as the Waterloo Station redevelopment and get to know more about the area.

The London Duck Tour company will be rounding off the day with free trips in its amphibious vehicles for up to 60 people attending the expo.

The Bigger Picture: Festival of Interdependence is a free interactive, living exhibition staged in the dramatic post-industrial setting of the Bargehouse on London’s South Bank, brought to you by nef (the new economics foundation) and a host of partner organisations.
