Sunny Days in August

Brockwell Lido Artist in Residence

Poolside on dry sunny days during August, Artist Zoe Burt - and Gethan Dick - will be making 72 life-size blue-print portraits of Lido users.

Blue-print is an early form of photography. We paint sheets of paper with light-sensitive non-toxic chemicals, then expose it to sunlight with a Lido user lying on top. The sunlight can't reach where you're lying, and the result is a pale figure seemingly floating on a dark watery-blue background.

It's free and everyone can join in - we want to record the many different people who use Brockwell Lido. All the portraits will be exhibited at the Lido on Thursday October 1st, 4pm-8pm
